Concealed Firearms Permit InformationThe Chief of the Brewer Police Department is authorized to issue Concealed Firearms Permits which permits the permit holder to carry a concealed firearm anywhere in the State of Maine. Application must be made to the Brewer Police Department and you should allow 30 days from the date of application to receive your permit. The Brewer Police Department will call you when your permit is ready to be picked up. Fees: $35 for an original permit
Must be 18 years of age or older Demonstrates knowledge of handgun safety and proficiency in its use. The Brewer Police Department requires a certificate from an NRA course or other qualified course issued within the past five years to meet these criteria. An applicant who has recently been issued a concealed firearms permit or one who served in the Armed Forces of the United States may not be asked to meet this requirement.
